{"id":2978,"date":"2022-05-02T00:00:00","date_gmt":"2022-05-02T00:00:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/bocatc.org.user.server321.com\/need-for-orthopedic-specialty-certification-continuing-education\/"},"modified":"2024-12-09T21:26:19","modified_gmt":"2024-12-09T21:26:19","slug":"need-for-orthopedic-specialty-certification-continuing-education","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/bocatc.org\/newsroom\/need-for-orthopedic-specialty-certification-continuing-education\/","title":{"rendered":"Need for Orthopedic Specialty Certification Continuing Education"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><img decoding=\"async\" style=\"float: right; margin: 0px 0px 10px 10px;\" src=\"https:\/\/bocatc.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2023\/11\/iStock-917896152_-_In_Article.jpg\" alt=\"\" \/><\/p>\n<p>The <a href=\"https:\/\/bocatc.org\/at-specialties\/orthopedic-specialty\">BOC Orthopedic Specialty Certification<\/a> for Athletic Trainers (ATs) launched fall of 2021.Those who have earned the BCS-O must demonstrate continuing competence by complying with the <a href=\"https:\/\/bocatc.org\/at-specialties\/orthopedic-specialty\/continuing-specialty-certification\/overview\">Continuing Specialty Certification<\/a> requirements, in addition to those required for the ATC\u00ae credential.<\/p>\n<p>BOC Approved Providers are already eligible to offer orthopedic specialty CE to meet this expanded need. To develop content for orthopedic specialty offerings, BOC Approved Providers should review the domains and tasks outlined in the free <a href=\"https:\/\/7f6907b2.flowpaper.com\/ContentOutlineforOPA\/#page=1\">Content Outline<\/a> of the BOC Orthopedic Practice Analysis (OPA). The OPA defines the domains (medical knowledge, procedural knowledge, professional practice) and task statements that are assessed on the Orthopedic Specialty Certification Exam. The <a href=\"https:\/\/at.bocatc.org\/practice_analysis_types\/3\/purchases\/new\">full OPA<\/a> includes the knowledge and skill statements within each task statement.<\/p>\n<p>The BOC will be implementing changes to the <a href=\"https:\/\/pathfinder.bocatc.org\/usr\/courses\">Program Directory<\/a> in summer 2022 to provide a way for BOC Approved Providers to promote specific activities that BCS-O credential holders can take to meet their continuing education (CE) requirements.
