Each year, BOC Approved Providers demonstrate their dedication to high-quality continuing education that supports the evolving needs of Athletic Trainers.<\/strong> In the most recent BOC Approved Provider Annual Report, providers across the country shared how they\u2019re innovating, adapting and improving programs to meet learners\u2019 needs, maintaining compliance and delivering impact. Here\u2019s what we learned from the results and how it can help you.<\/p>\n

          Tip: <\/strong>Focus on writing learning objectives that help learners use the information to make meaningful changes in their practice. Learning objectives should move learners from knowing to doing, encouraging a clear commitment to change.<\/p>\n

                  Noted Challenge:<\/strong> Some responses from providers leaned more toward programmatic<\/em> evaluations rather than learning<\/em> assessments. \u00a0Note, programmatic evaluations focus on organizational and delivery aspects of an activity, whereas learning assessments focus on learners progress.<\/p>\n

                  Tip:<\/strong> Align learning assessments<\/a> directly with learning objectives and offer pre\/post-tests to show learning gains.<\/p>\n

                      Description: <\/strong>Providers scoped out upgraded facilities to include new technology to support hybrid and in-person learning. These facilities were often equipped with audiovisual systems, microphones and projectors.<\/p>\n

                        Description: <\/strong>Providers added subject matter experts to address learning gaps and interdisciplinary care. Some providers added faculty resources that included guidelines, tech tips and content best practices to improve teaching quality.<\/p>\n

                          Noted Challenge:<\/strong> Some providers reported a lack of interaction between the attendees and presenters. Also, sometimes faculty members viewed as experts showed occasional gaps in their understanding of aspects of the topic.<\/p>\n

                          Tip:<\/strong> Include diverse voices and consider how instructional engagement strategies for physical and virtual environments support all learners. Ensure there is a shared understanding between the organization and faculty about the key content to be delivered. Schedule regular check-ins and offer support such as resources, additional faculty, etc. as needed to maintain alignment. Conduct faculty reviews and include inclusive training.<\/p>\n

                                                  \u201cWe digitized evaluations, certificates, and CEU tracking\u2014cutting processing time in half.\u201d<\/em><\/p>\n

                                                  Noted Challenge:<\/strong> Some providers reported that the information they received from learners was too narrow and focused on logistical details such as meals or technical issues and did not address other important components including program organization, content quality and overall program impact.<\/p>\n

                                                  Tip:<\/strong> Administration is more than logistics. Connect your planning efforts (such as meals, or tech setup) to the bigger picture of program quality, content, and learner impact. Ask more targeted questions in your program evaluations and consider ways to collect broader information from learners to capture the full effectiveness of your program.<\/p>\n
